Additional Funding
Pupil and sports premium records about our school.
Pupil Premium is a funding initiative provided by the UK government to help schools improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. It’s designed to close the attainment gap between these pupils and their peers.
Who qualifies?
How is it used? Schools receive additional funding per eligible pupil and have flexibility in how they spend it, but it must be aimed at improving achievement and wellbeing. Common uses include:
Accountability: Schools must publish a Pupil Premium strategy on their website, showing how funds are spent and the impact on outcomes. You can view or download our Pupil Premium allocation and find out how this has been used at our school.

The Government provides additional funding to schools to improve the provision for PE and Sport in primary schools.
At St Mary’s, we are conscious of the importance of PE in promoting physical and mental health and wellbeing. Through our provision for PE and sport we aim to promote the benefits of physical activity and healthy lifestyles while developing positive habits and attitudes.
We believe that every child should receive high quality PE and sports lessons along with opportunities to experience a wide range of sports and physical activities that they can enjoy and excel at. We aim to provide a wide variety of clubs and experiences for the children to engage everyone in being active.
With our funding we have:
We are proud of our children and how they compete and play fairly in sport.

All schools should have a music development plan from academic year 2023-24. Schools are expected to publish a summary of their plan on their website from academic year 2024-25.
The Music Development Plan sets out how the school will deliver high-quality music provision in curriculum music, co-curricular music and musical experiences, taking into account the key features in the national plan for music education.
Our summary reflects our school’s music provision for the given school year along with our plans for subsequent years.
