Headteacher’s Welcome

A welcome message from our headteacher.

I am delighted to be able to welcome you to our lovely school. It is a true privilege to be entrusted with the education and well-being of our young children, and it gives me a great deal of pride to see them as they grow, learn and flourish as they move through our school. St Mary’s has been educating children from the Hexham community since 1832 and is part of the Heavenfield Partnership.

When a child joins our school they become a part of the St Mary’s family. We pride ourselves on our nurturing approach, caring for our pupils and their families in our friendly, secure and happy environment. In St. Mary’s we seek to create an inclusive community where everybody is valued. We are a dedicated school team who are all committed to ensuring the best outcomes for every one of our pupils; we all work incredibly hard ensuring that our children enjoy their learning and achieve well.

Visitors routinely comment on the friendly atmosphere that exists at St. Mary’s. It is our amazing pupils that help make our school what it is. When a child joins St.Mary’s we welcome the whole family into our school community, where the children always make us proud with their fantastic attitude towards their learning, their willingness and drive to do well, their enthusiasm when faced with new challenges and the way they treat each other with care and respect.

If you would like to discover more about life at St. Mary’s we would love to hear from you, please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.
