School Uniform
School uniform requirements for our school.
The St Mary’s uniform was chosen after consultation with parents/carers, governors and pupils. The agreed school wear reflects the school’s aims and ethos as a place of learning. It is smart and sensible for everyday wear and presents a good image of the pupils and their school when they are on public display.

At St. Mary’s we are keen for families to utilise our recycling school uniform service, with the aim of reducing waste and recycling uniform items. School uniform is important to us and our pupils, and we want to ensure that we can make our uniform more ‘eco-friendly’. Should you require specific uniform items, please complete the request form below, we will check our school stock to see if the item required is available and send home your items with your child. Should you wish to make a donation to the St. Mary’s PTA for the uniform items, please let the school office know, however, there is no obligation to do so. Likewise, if you have any items of uniform you could donate to our recycling scheme, please hand them in at the school office. All donations are greatly appreciated.
Full school uniform must be worn every day unless pupils are told otherwise. Please see our Uniform Policy for further details:
From September 2026, all schools in England must limit compulsory branded uniform items to a maximum of three (plus one tie for secondary/middle schools), making affordability a legal requirement rather than guidance. This change, part of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, aims to reduce costs for families by allowing more high-street alternatives, requiring second-hand options, and updating procurement practices to comply with statutory rules.
St. Mary’s has updated our school uniform policy from Sept 2026-27 to accommodate these changes. Please see relevant policy above for details.
Our current uniform list below reflects the existing requirements. However, we welcome parents who wish to adopt items from the new uniform policy ahead of its full implementation. This flexibility ensures families can transition at a pace that suits them.
