Our music lesson

A post in our latest news section.

In music, Year 4 explored the idea of an ostinato, which is a short musical pattern that is repeated over and over again. Using rivers as their theme, the children thought carefully about how music can represent flowing water, movement, and changes in speed. They experimented with a range of instruments and chose the ones they felt were most suitable for their river-inspired ostinatos. After practising and refining their patterns, the children confidently performed their ostinatos to the class, showing excellent teamwork, creativity, and listening skills.
