Careers Week

A post in our latest news section.

To kick-start Careers Week, Year 3 enjoyed an exciting visit from a local GP. The children explored real medical equipment, including a stethoscope, and had the opportunity to listen to their own—and each other’s—heartbeats. They then learned all about how to keep themselves healthy at school, discovering that one of the most important things they can do is wash their hands regularly!

Our second visitor of the day was an Illustrator and Tattoo Artist. The children learned all about what an illustrator does and explored the wide range of media they can work with. We discovered that illustrators create designs for books, cookbooks, magazines, CDs, and record covers. The children especially loved looking through the different pieces of artwork and seeing how each design told its own story.
